Rodeo Day

Kindergarten had a "Rodeo Day" back in February and Meredith was super excited to dress up!  Parents are not invited, but I went up there to take pictures for the yearbook.  Unfortunately, I missed Meredith's group, but based on the pictures I took of the other kids, I know all of the kids had fun!

Before school she loved posing for pictures!

Miranda also insisted on dressing up!

I did manage to surprise the girls with lunch since I had to take yearbook photos. ;)

Miranda was my tagalong while I took pictures and wasn't too happy that she didn't get to join in the fun, so we had a rodeo of our own! ;)

Roping a cow...or elephant!

I love how her eyes are closed!

Yay! She made it!

She threw the hula hoop so many times! And every picture I have in the middle of a throw, her eyes are closed!

No wonder she missed a lot! ;)

She may or may not have added this one while looking. ;)

Now it's time for the unicorn and pony races!

I think she'll be super excited for her kinder rodeo in 3 years!

Because sometimes the middle child gets her own post!

I had to go back and look at the calendar to see what was going on and why only Meredith was playing outside when I took these pictures.  I believe this is after we took Mackenzie to the doctor concerning her rash that turned out to be Fifth's Disease.  The doctor said it flairs up in heat and sunshine, so she stayed inside once we got home and I'm pretty sure Miranda was taking a nap.  I had just recovered from the flu and bronchial infection, so I was ready to be outside and enjoy some fresh air!  That left me and Meredith outside on a beautiful day.  As you can see, she really just wanted to play with sidewalk chalk!

I love that she can write on her own now!

I'm pretty sure every section of our driveway was colored on!

I have no idea why she was still wearing this bicycle helmet while playing with chalk, but she did.  That's just her way!  If only that hair hadn't been in front of her face.  But like I said, that's just her way!

100th day of school

In January the big girls school celebrated the 100th day of school. This was right in the middle of all of our sicknesses. Mackenzie and Miranda were staying home because they had a fever on Sunday and Monday. Looking back, this is when Mackenzie had Fifth's Disease - the rash would show up a week later.  Anyways, Mackenzie was very disappointed to be missing school on the 100th day of school, so I told her she could still dress up while we took Meredith to school.  Plus, I had volunteered weeks before this to take picture of the kids at the entry for yearbook, so I had to go anyway.

I bought the glasses at the dollar store and the scarves in the 3 dollar bins at Target.  We had everything else.  Miranda was going through a phase of wanting to wear footy pajamas every day, so that was actually her dressed. ;)

Meredith wore her hair in a bun and the closest thing we had to gray hair spray was blue glitter spray.  You could barely see it, but we tried. ;)

It was a little chilly that morning, so these girls were ready for me to finish taking pictures!

On top of all that, we had to go to the doctor that day for Mackenzie's infected wart. :(  We had already been the Friday before and after 4 days of medicine and cream, the wart was worse.  The doctor informed us that she had a type of antibiotic resistant staph infection, so we had to change medicines.  After that doctors visit, we went to eat at Slim Chickens for lunch.   The girls were clearly feeling much better!

Dessert was a must after the weekend and start of the week we had been having!

We had 2 days after this of no illness.  By Friday I woke up feeling crummy and was diagnosed with the flu on Sunday.  That same day is when we first noticed Mackenzie's fifth's disease rash...exactly one week after the start of her fever.  That was a super fun time in my life. Ha!  But at lease we somewhat enjoyed this day!

Silly Mackenzie and Meredith

I think these pictures are from our day off for Martin Luther King Day.  We were doing crafts and had some extra pom poms and since Meredith is pretty creative, she decided to tape them onto herself!  Silly Girl!

Eventually we added a mustache!

And then of course, Mackenzie wanted her picture taken too.  She likes me to take picture of her doing different expressions.

Super excited!

Happy emoji.

I have so many silly photos of my girls and I hope that never changes!

Meredith dances!

Meredith loves to listen to music, dance and sing.  On this particular afternoon, I decided to take pictures and record her.  Not sure where she got these dance moves.

Also, this dress has now been thrown away since a ruffle was coming off the dress!

A little blurry, but still shows she's having funand moving a lot!

And now for your enjoyment - the actual dance.  I posted this to facebook and her teacher was shocked that she danced!  She said that they play this song during brain break time at school and she's the only kind in the class who doesn't dance.  I'm shocked just as much as she is!
