Jingle Bell Walk 2016

Mackenzie and Meredith's elementary school has a Jingle Bell Walk every year where they walk around a couple of blocks in the neighborhood singing Christmas songs.  The girls were excited to wear their new Christmas shirts and their santa hats.  I had to take a picture of Mackenzie separately to get her to smile. ;)

Miranda and I cheered on the girls and even wore festive headbands.  It was a little cold though, so Miranda hid under her jacket! ;)

Kindergarten was at the first of the line, so here's Meredith with her friends and classmates.

Miranda is still cute even without her headband on. ;)

Mackenzie with a couple of her friends...

Each grade level is lead by a golf cart playing the Christmas music.  The namesakes of the school lead the way - Ray and Jamie Wolman!

And they're off!
I'm not sure how much Meredith sang, but she looked like she was having fun.

Mackenzie clearly sang with her classmates.  Her teacher is the one dressed up behind them like a reindeer! ;)

The sheriff's office comes in and blocks the roads and all the kids love seeing them.

When the rounded the corner coming back to the school (about 20 minutes later), Some people including Ms. Wolman were pushing a golf cart that had died.  Mr. Wolman had heart surgery about 3 weeks before this, so he was forced to sit in the cart while his wife pushed! ;)

Almost at the end!

I have 7 more of these - which is fine with me!  I love seeing the kids walk around the neighborhood and I love seeing all the people cheering them on as they walk down the street!  It's a great tradition!

Miranda's Christmas Program

Miranda had her first school performance back in December.  I wasn't sure how she would do since she doesn't really like attention on herself.  Some of the pictures aren't all that great, but that's ok. ;)
Looking for me and Brandon...

She just stared and smiled at us while they got ready to sing. ;)

The two friends to the left are two of her favorites.  She talks about them often at home.

I'm not sure I'll be able to load the video, so here are some still shots...

And then they were finished with the school songs. ;(

After the pre-k class sang, everyone got on stage to sing Christmas songs.  Unfortunately, they put a paper necklace they had made on and Miranda spent most of the time staring at it. :(

Then Santa arrived!!  Miranda was fairly indifferent. :)

And this is how she approached him during pictures.  This was the distance she wanted.
Then a little closer....
Then a little more closer...

She didn't want to sit in his lap, but she did let him put her arm around her! ;)

Keeping a bunch of 3 year olds still long enough for a photo was challenging.  I think I took 20 photos and this is the best one I got.  Oh well.

This was my 5th time to attend the school's Christmas program (4th with my own kids) and I love it every time.  The kids are so sweet and cute and I love hearing them sing songs about God, Jesus and the Bible.  I hope to attend in future years even after my kids have moved on from preschool!

Decorating Trees

The girls and I got to decorate 6 Christmas trees this past season! In our house we have 4 trees...our big, traditional tree, our advent tree and the girls have small trees in their rooms. Then, to top it all off, the schedule worked out this year so that we got to decorate Moshi & Gapa's tree as well as Granny's tree. They seemed to be a bit distracted at Moshi and Gapa's but they still had fun and Meredith helped the most.

Before decorating the trees we went out for lunch where Meredith and Miranda found it super cool to watch themselves eat in the mirror behind the booth. ;)

Meredith chose the theme "White Christmas" so we had a white and silver tree.  This is the before picture with only ribbon.

Miranda didn't do much with the tree because she was too busy playing with Gapa.

Not sure how this is comfortable.

I think Meredith did the most decorating with Moshi.

The finished tree!

I guess all the decorating wore Mackenzie and Meredith out!

We decorated Granny's tree 2 days before Christmas! ;)  Again, this is the before shot.
All 3 girls were very interested in helping this time.

Miranda looked super cute, so I have lots of pictures of her!

Finished product!

I hope next season works out where we can do this from now on.  I remember always decorating Granny's tree growing up.  I tried to find some pictures on my computer just now, but couldn't find any.  It looks like I need to borrow some albums and pictures from Granny to scan in. ;)
