My time has slipped away way too quickly! I had no intention of waiting this long between blog posts, but it happened anyway. Last year, I don't recall having something to do every single day of the week, but I think maybe we did. Anyways, this year we also have something everyday. I LOVE being busy and I don't want to give up my bible study or gymnastics and swim lessons for the girls, but sometimes I just don't feel like I can get everything done. That's probably because once I get home from our morning activities I tend to veg afterwards until it's time for a school pick up. :/ It's amazing how I can feel busy and lazy at the same time! Ha!
Mackenzie has had a great year in school so far. Her PE teachers send home monthly challenges that we are supposed to do as a family. Last month we had to do 500 push ups and SHE did them, but I only did 2 or 3 days worth. This month the challenge is 500 minutes of walking/running. So far we have 90 minutes logged and I really do mean WE. Since the weather has been nice the last couple of days, we've been walking home from Mackenzie's school. Yesterday was a bit hot for me and the 2 mile round trip, so I've decided we are going to have to wait for 70 degree weather before we walk home again! ;)
Meredith seems to be better with school this month. She's pretty emotional most mornings in general, but she's getting better. ;) She likes school and her teachers tell me she's perfect at school, which is awesome. She and I are working on speaking kindly to each other because we both tend to elevate each other and make things worse quickly. :( Again, I'm admitting that I am just as responsible for the raised emotions we both have. Motherhood can be hard.
Last night, I pretty much ignored a big "blowout" between Mackenzie and Meredith because I thought Meredith was overreacting since she screamed and cried at the top of her lungs. I was getting Miranda ready for bed and called Meredith to me and sent her to her room to calm down. Brandon came into the room and he figured out that Mackenzie had pushed and unintentionally scratched Meredith with her pencil. I looked at Meredith and saw the scratch on her chest. So, that brought on a discussion about the boy who called wolf, since that is exactly why I didn't respond to her cries when she was truly hurt. I felt awful about my reaction or lack of. Don't worry, Mackenzie was also spoken to about pushing. It was decided that no one messes with anyone while doing homework and we ALWAYS come get a parent if someone is disobeying the rules. ;) I'm looking forward to many more years of this same conversation!
Anyways, that's 2 weeks and now I need to go edit photos so I can actually do a post with pictures because that's all most care about! ;)
