First Day of Summer

Our first day of summer was a big one!  It was National Donut Day, so we obliged and had donuts before swim lessons!

After swim lessons, we headed to Granny and Papa's house for a visit!  This is Miranda's cheese face! ;)
The girls love Penny, but are also still a little afraid.  They run around laughing, screaming and basically scaring the poor dog.  Occasionally they sit long enough to pet her.

And then of course, the tables always come out to use as stools.  Even Miranda joined in the fun!
Meredith performed some songs for us!
And Miranda enjoyed sitting with papa for a little bit.

After a few hours at Granny and Papa's, we headed to my nephew's high school graduation party!  It was outside, but the weather wasn't too terribly hot.

Before the party we had stocked up on bubbles and spray bottles to play with outside.
And they were soon shared with all of the kids!
The squirt bottles were a favorite and argued over the most.
Hot, sweaty, messy girl enjoying a cookie!

The bubble whistle was a dud, but Miranda tried anyway.

Late in the day we broke out the bean bags and sidewalk chalk...

When the party was over, we headed to the other playgrounds that I promised the girls they could play on.  It was 6:30 and I thought the park closed at 7:00, so I gave them 5 minutes at each playground (there were three).  The see-saw at our neighborhood playground isn't very good, so they were excited to use this one!

We took one last restroom break and headed home.  We left our house that morning at 8:15 and came home 12 hours later.  They got baths and went straight to bed, no questions asked! ;)  A great start to the summer!
