Jingle Bell Walk

On the last day of school before Winter Break, Mackenzie's school walked around part of the neighborhood singing Christmas carols.  Before school that morning, Mackenzie asked me how you become a caroler. ;)  No classes/tests required...just sing!

It was super cold that morning.  At least cold for us southeast Texas girls! Ha!  We sat in the car after we dropped Mackenzie off until it was time for the "Jingle Bell Walk" to start, so we were there when they were lining up.

All bundled up and ready to go!

Apparently, Miranda was that cold!

A little bright!

We watched them walk a little bit down the street and then we walked to the ending location (other side of the school) and waited on the curb.  Meredith was worried about our feet being in the street, but I assured her that are feet wouldn't be run over since the police had blocked off the road. ;)

Miranda refused to wear her coat. :/

Meredith wanted to take a few pictures herself.  Oh, the faces of Meredith!

Three hours later we picked her up from school to start winter break!

Meredith's Christmas Program

Meredith's school had their annual Christmas Program a few weeks ago. She was very excited to sing her songs and even received her Santa hat!

Singing the Creation Song...
I'm not sure what song this is... ;)
So, after each age group has sung songs, they all get up there together to sing the Christmas songs.  The first song is Up on the House Top...with hand gestures.  Unfortunately, the boy next to her clapped his hands together for the opening gesture and poked Meredith in the eye. :(
She tried to hold it together and I tried to keep her smiling and singing, but she just had to cry.  I got up front to let her in my lap for a little while.  I was able to convince her to go back on stage to sing Jingle Bells and ring her bells.  This is her after I've calmed her down. Poor, sweet girl.  And the little boy felt bad too.

This is when Santa is walking in and while it looks likes she's super excited, this is actually her wiping her snot! ;)
wiping tears...
And finally, a slight smile. ;)

Her class with Santa...

Her sneaky look while they were taking pictures! ;)

Our only pictures with Santa...

And Miranda visited with her bible class teacher and our good friend, Miss Joyce.

Such a cute morning!  I love this program and next year we'll be taking pictures of Miranda!

Cookie Exchange

My mom had a cookie exchange earlier this month, so the girls and I made gingerbread cookies by Meredith's request. The girls hated the smell of the cookie dough, especially the molases. I was worried they weren't going to like the cookies, but all three really liked them once they were baked. The evening before the party, I gave them a tree and a girl to decorate each.

I decorated the rest and of course forgot to take any pictures. :(

I, obviously iced Miranda's cookies, but she added the pearls.

No pictures of Meredith's face because she had her shirt off. ;)
Mackenzie's cookies...
Meredith's cookies...
And of course, they got to eat them when they were finished!

There were lots of cookies!

My mom also had several crafts for everyone to do.  Mackenzie and Meredith were very excited about this and did most of the work.

There was a lot of visiting, so at some point, Moshi put on a movie for them in the bedroom.  And the best part, was that we won a prize for best decorated cookie! yay!

November Miscellaney

It's time for catch up posts for the end of the year! Get ready for lots of posts and LOTS of pictures! ;)

This is Meredith one morning waiting for her bible class teacher!  So cute and fully accessorized!
On that same Sunday, I heard Meredith screaming from the living room and found her chubby puppy toy caught in her hair.  It's legs spin around and she thought it would be fun for it to walk on her head.  As it turns out, it wasn't that fun!  A few snips and the dog was free.  You can't even tell that her hair was cut, so that's a relief!

Meredith drew a picture for her Spanish teacher's birthday. ;)
Miranda was scared for a full week while Brandon's waders hung in the garage.  Every time she saw them she said, "I scared" and ran the other way.
The girls had their combined dentist appointment and did great!  Plus, no cavities for anyone!

I had to take Miranda to the doctor because she was a little sick.  She did not like having her blood drawn and all of the screaming and crying wore her out! Don't you love the tears and drool spots on my shirt?!

Thankfully BOTH big girls promoted in gymnastics.  Here's hoping they always progress at the same time! Ha!

This was Mackenzie's hair for her crazy hair day!

This is after the fun run showing me her 35 laps she ran! ;)
This cute little dress was made for Mackenzie 5 years ago by my Aunt!  Now, all 3 girls have worn it!
And last, but not least, I never thought I'd say, "you can both dance on the sewer cover.  please share!"

Now that we are finished with November, we can have a massive catch up on December and all of it's festivities! ;)
