This winter has been crazy! I think we usually get one day each winter where it's really cold with a possibility of ice. Then every 2 years it probably ices and every 5-8 years it snows. This year we have had snow flurries AND a couple of ice days. But the craziest of all of this was the ice day we had this week...in MARCH! Especially, since two or three days before I had been wearing flip flops and short sleeve shirts! The flip flop weather isn't that abnormal this time of year...first half of the week is cold, second is warm and repeat. But it's not usually this extreme. Anyways, I took a few pictures of the ice in our backyard before I took Mackenzie to school.
Luckily, there wasn't any ice on the roads, so driving to and from school wasn't dangerous. Although the afternoon pickup was interesting since all of the ice was falling from the power lines! It was raining and finally above freezing for the day, so the ice was melting and big hunks were falling down onto the road and culverts. We didn't have any hit our car, but it's a little unnerving to see something fall from "the sky" right in front of you! :/
So, here's hoping for some normal weather. I don't want it hot, but I don't want to wear jackets anymore!
