And now Meredith is 21 months old! This month has been a little more difficult with her. She is attached to me ALL the time and won't even go to Brandon sometimes. It's a good thing baby Miranda won't be arriving for another 4 months, so we have that time to work on the attachment issue. Otherwise her world is going to be completely rocked when I get home from the hospital. She has also started waking up in the night. It's not every night, but since she started sleeping through the night at 3 or 4 months, she has only woken up in the night a couple of times, so waking up 2 or 3 times in the week is new to us. We are definitely blessed with good sleepers, so it's a little annoying when she started waking up in the night. I actually think half the time she wakes up from a bad dream because I will find her still in her crib/bed facing the wrong way screaming at the top of her lungs. All the other times, she's standing at the door crying for me. I know I probably sound bratty given that some of you probably have kids that wake up a lot in the night, but again we are not used to it. I've just been taking her into the guest bedroom to sleep the rest of the night/morning, but it takes her almost an hour to fall back to sleep, so therefore I'm up too. :/ Last night it took me almost an hour after she fell asleep before I went back to sleep, so I lost 2 hours of sleep (from 2-4am) and then she was awake at 6:30 asking for her milk.
On the bright side, she is so much fun and like I said last month, her vocabulary is improving every day. Her favorite phrases are:
- What do? (it's old, but it means "what are you doing?")
- I did it! (typically followed by clapping for things like buckling her carseat buckle or doing a puzzle on the ipad.
- op daddy (stop daddy - she's pretty bossy, so this is used whenever Brandon picks on her, tickles her or in general does something she doesn't want him doing.)
- ere are you? (it's also old, but means "Where are you?")
- gotcha (she yells this one as she tries to tickle or grab you)
At 21 months, Meredith...
-still loves her lovey and blanket and has to have both to sleep.
-loves to "bounce" in the bath tub and splash water around.
-has 14 teeth - the two upper eye teeth finally poked through this month!
-wears 24 month to 2T clothing and size 7 shoe.
-recognizes/matches shadow shapes on the ipad games
-loves to sing along and asks for music the minute we get in the car even if the car isn't turned on yet.
-loves the swimming pool and went under water LOTS of times and asked to "kick kick" everywhere in the pool, this past holiday weekend.
- copies Mackenzie in almost everything
Only 3 more months until she's 2!!! That's crazy!
