Evening Out

My office does not do casual Fridays. Because of this, most of us really look forward to the only 2 casual dress days we have! They are: Go Texan day and our Christmas eve half day. As much as I look forward to being able to dress down on the weekends, its just as nice to dress up even more! Saturday night Brandon and I attended a black tie event. Besides weddings, we've never been to this formal of an event together, so I was looking forward to it. I bought a new dress and shoes; had a manicure/petticure and Brandon rented a tux. We bid/bought a couple of items at the silent auction and had a really nice dinner with some of Brandon's co-workers. Overall we really had a great time. The theme was designing/building "green" buildings, so the event was actually "black or green tie" (note Brandon's color choice for tux vest and tie).

Do you ever feel like there is not enough time in the day, week, month, etc.? I feel that way all the time! I'm constantly adding things to my calendar and to-do lists and it seems like it never stops. Anyone who knows me, knows I'm a list freak! :) I have lists for every occasion: shopping, cleaning, things to do, etc. I make lists every weekend for all the stuff I need to do. Actually, when I think about it my lists have sub-lists for the different stores I go to.
Brandon may be used to my lists, but even after 6 years of marriage he still doesn't understand them. He can't understand why I would make a huge list of things I need to do on our only 2 days off of work. I don't feel like I'm tied to those tasks all weekend, but there is definitely a sense of accomplishment when I get to cross off something on the list. Even if several items get pushed to the next weekend, there is still a measure of what I accomplished outside of work.
Don't get me wrong, there are definitely times when only one or two items gets crossed off and the rest stay on the list for the next week, but I definitely like it when alll or almost everything on my to do list is crossed off. Is anyone else like this or am I alone in my list making mania?

My first Blog

Today I clicked on a link to a friends blog and then from her blog I saw one of my other friends and the same thing happened there. After seeing 6 blogs, I realized that I am not up to speed in the blog world! I didn't realize so many people I knew had blogs! So, I feel a little better now that I have created a blog. The trick now is to keep it updated. For right now it's just to say I started one, nothing special! Feel free to let me know when you starting blogging and how long I've been out of the loop. :)
